I’ve recently discovered my love otome fashion thanks to the indie brand Mulberry Chronicles. Mulberry Chronicles makes dresses and accessories that work for both lolita and otome fashion. I find myself styling them as otome outfits more often than not since I like wearing them to work. I’ve known of the brand for awhile, but I didn’t make my first purchase until they re-released The Woodland Path jumperskirt (seen below).
The fabric for the Woodland Path JSK has a little bit of a shine to it (but not too much) which gives it a luxurious feel. The dress is fully lined, zips up the back, and has 2 pockets. Unlike mainstream lolita/otome brands, Mulberry Chronicles’ garments do not tend to have shirring. They do release a few sizes for each piece. I really enjoy the look of fitted garments and it’s great to be able to buy a dress that can work for japanese fashion styles in my size.
The skirt is pleated and full enough to accommodate a lolita petticoat. I’ve only recently started dabbling in styles of lolita outside of sweet, but here’s my attempt at an outfit using The Woodland Path JSK. I’m using one of my Angelic Pretty petticoats underneath.
The second release that I managed to get from Mulberry Chronicles is called Puppy Rosette. I haven’t had this dress for very long so I’ve only done one outfit with it. The cut is similar to The Woodland Path dress but the fabric is more delicate. The colorway I chose is called Vanilla Sponge. The dress is fully lined but due to the light color, it’s a still a tiny bit sheer when darker colors are layered underneath.
What I’ve failed to mention up until this point is that Mulberry Chronicles also makes adorable brooches! There are usually a couple for each dress design, in addition to brooches that they restock. Some of the selection on their website may be going away soon though, so I suggest you grab anything you love before it’s gone.
Overall, I’ve loved everything I’ve bought from Mulberry Chronicles. I think the quality is fantastic and the price point is perfect. I’m looking forward to their next release so I can have a new addition to my collection!
Both of the dresses featured in this post are now sold out, unfortunately. If you are interested in these designs, I recommend that you contact Mulberry Chronicles on one of their social media pages and let them know. I also suggest following them or signing up for their mailing list to be notified of any upcoming releases.
