I was excited when I heard there was going to be a new season of Lupin III this year and after watching it, I have to say it was definitely my favorite show out of all the spring anime. I really like Fujiko’s revamped design and amazing outfits featured in the new series so I was pretty excited to cosplay her. I want to do some of her other outfits eventually but I thought her red jacket was fun (and hopefully recognizable to people who have seen the show)!
The actual construction of the costume took me a little less than a week to finish. I had been planning it for while though so it feels like it took forever! I think I ordered the fabric and wig right after I got back from Sakura-con. I designed the fabric and got it printed by Spoonflower on a thick cotton fabric. I used a trench coat pattern as a guide and modified it to look like her jacket.
This was my first time making boot covers.. I think they look pretty good but I want to re-do them before I do another shoot or wear it to a convention. I think if I use a different fabric they would turn out better (and also because I kind of know what I’m doing now)!
The location we went to for the shoot was Forest Park. It was kind of rainy and humid but the scenery was gorgeous. I hope to go back there again for another photoshoot sometime. To see more photos from this shoot, check out my DeviantArt page. I will probably upload a few at a time since I have so many!
I have lots of plans for future cosplays, but since there might be a beach photoshoot in the works I want to do this outfit that Fujiko wears in the last episode. We’ll see if I can get it done in time!
